Sim Streeter – Crafting Music, Creating Magic

Born in the Boogie-Down Bronx, Sim Streeter brings a lifetime of soul and passion to his music. His birth name, Besinuwa, means “a craft maker of children’s toys” in Swahili—a fitting connection to an artist whose craft is music.

Inspired by Teddy Pendergrass and Michael Jackson, Sim began developing his voice at age seven and later honed his talents through school choir.

At 18, Sim joined the R&B group Casual Soul, which secured a demo deal with Mona Scott at Def Jam/Violator Records. The experience connected him with industry figures including Russell Simmons, LL Cool J, Brandy, Ray J, Busta Rhymes, and Boyz II Men, as well as Full Force and Kangol of UTFO. In 1992, Casual Soul performed on The Late Show with David Letterman and sang background vocals for LL Cool J at The Children’s Choice Awards.

Sim later performed with the FunkDaddy Band throughout Atlantic City and New Jersey. His cover of Norman Connors’ “You Are My Starship” caught Connors’ attention, leading to an invitation to perform live in South Jersey.

Kaos Records

Sim released his debut EP, Craft Maker of R&B, with Kaos Records LLC, showcasing his classic R&B influences and soulful vocal style.

Sim will complete his journey with Kaos Records with the upcoming release of Craft Maker of R&B: The Remix EP. Releasing soon, the project marks the final chapter of his work with the label while celebrating his contribution to the Kaos Records catalog.
